It's my Parting Shot for some Weekend Short Shots...
SaskTel Centre and Western Concessions treated some of us media types to lunch Thursday. But, it wasn't your usual arena concession food. No, I had tomato soup, three differed kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches, several different flavours of boneless chicken wings, a couple of different ice cream or frozen drinks plus soft ice cream in all kinds of different and pretty colours. So now, if you've had a long, hard day at the office...and are going to any event at SaskTel Centre; but don't want hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, popcorn and soft drinks; fear not, you can have a different meal that is quite delicious! Yes, it will be priced like concession food, but it's not outrageously-priced as it is in bigger cities. And, you can still get your old concession favourites if you need that fix!
The beauty of living in a free and democratic country like Canada is that I will do as I wish when it comes to the Canadian national anthem at sporting events. I know I will stand, but I will respect anybody who chooses not to. That is each individual's right and prerogative...and shouldn't be belittled! Who died and made any of us more important than the next person?!
And, excuse my play-by-play call if it sounds a little distracted at times Friday night from SaskTel Centre when the Blades play Medicine Hat. I'll have the T-V on in my booth...and will be catching many glances at what is going on with the Riders in Ottawa!
