Once again, a pending baseball playoff series touches off a "head versus heart" debate for the Fearless Predictor. My heart wants Houston to finally win a World Series since the Astros have been around since 1962...back in the days when they were known as the "Colt 45s." However, my head says the L-A Dodgers have their pitching set-up, starting off with lights-out lefty Clayton Kershaw tonight. They're getting Corey Seager back to play shortstop and they had the best record in the majors. I'm picking L-A in six games! But, I hope I'm wrong!! Again!!!
The irony out of all of this is that when I was growing up, the first book I bought from Scholastic Book Services...remember them...while going to school was "The Baseball Life of Sandy Koufax." That made me a Dodgers fan for a few years...until the Montreal Expos came along in 1969!
I'm going to admit it...when it comes to the N-H-L, I've become more of a vindictive-type of follower. While you should all know by now that I'm originally a Winnipegger, making me a Jets' fan, I am getting more of a charge out of the Habs having started 1-6-1 and the Oilers at 2-5-0 this season, than I am with Winnipeg's 4-3-0 start! I just hope it stays that way, but I rather doubt it!
