It's my Parting Shot as the Fearless Predictor wobbles towards the end of the C-F-L regular-season with Week 18 picks…
Wobbling is about right…just a 50-50 Week 17, leaving my overall record for the year at 35-34…a barely acceptable record, no matter how unpredictable the league has been!
The Friday Night doubleheader starts with Hamilton at Ottawa. The RedBlacks grabbed first place in the East Division by the throat last week by winning at Tim Horton’s Field. Friday at home, they clinch…prevailing by at least a touchdown!
The second game has Toronto in Calgary. Seriously, the Argos won’t stop the Stampeders’ march to a possible best-ever one-season record. Toronto has a chance, but it’s pretty slim. And, the Stamps will be the ones to derail themselves. Not this time, though…Calgary by at least two touchdowns!
On Saturday, the schedule starts with the Riders hosting Montreal and the highly-anticipated debut of Vernon Adams Junior at quarterback for the Alouettes. That’s what the C-F-L website says. But, after releasing Duron Carter and Kenny Stafford, Adams might have to do it all himself. Saskatchewan is favoured…and will win by at least 10 points!
The final game has Edmonton in B-C. The defending Grey Cup champions are fourth in the West, but can finish as high as second. Why not? I’m saying Eskimos by less than a field goal!
I would like a little bit of wiggle room so that I don’t finish below .500. We’ll see!
That's my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk in Langley, B-C…
