If you believe in such things as...insert name of particular sport here...Gods, as I do, then you could say that "The Football Gods Giveth" and "The Football Gods Taketh Away" in the case of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Ottawa RedBlacks. Both teams let leads slip away for losses that should have been wins. So, they end up with an unorthodox split...but a split nonetheless. Both fan bases should just accept it and move on! Of course, that won't happen...especially in Rider Nation!!
I will say that the two plays I saw live while calling the Blades at Medicine Hat game Friday night were the two bad interceptions thrown by Kevin Glenn...one in the Ottawa end zone, apparently a miscommunication between quarterback and receiver, and the other being the "Pick-6" by Antoine Pruneau, an over-hyped Canadian defensive back who I saw finally make a play...let alone a big play!
It's unfortunate, because I like the way Aaron Rodgers plays the game and I don't dislike Green Bay, but I like the Minnesota Vikings a LOT more. So, when Vikes' linebacker Anthony Barr tackled Rodgers just after he threw a pass, and the Packers' pivot fell in such a way that he broke his collarbone on landing on the artificial turf at U-S Bank Stadium in the Twin Cities yesterday, I was torn. Too bad for Rodgers...but good for Minnesota and their N-F-L playoff hopes! Sports is finicky and cruel!!
