It's my Parting Shot for the C-F-L playoffs edition of The Fearless Predictor...
The final tally is in for the 2017 regular-season...I ended up with 50 correct, straight-up, picks out of 81 games for a correct prediction rate of 61.7% per cent! Not great, but better than the previous two years!
This weekend is the Division semi-finals on Sunday. Let's start in the East with the Riders in Ottawa. Each team beat the other by a single point on the other team's home field. There isn't much to choose between them, but I'm saying a healthy Cameron Marshall at running back will be the key to victory for the Green and White...by less than a field goal!
In the West, the best team in the C-F-L right now is Edmonton. They visit a Winnipeg team that won last week in Calgary, but don't know for sure if they'll have former Eskimos quarterback Matt Nicholls available to them. Regardless of whether Nicholls is out there, Edmonton wins by more than a touchdown!
Gazing further down the line, I like the Riders to end up in the Grey Cup game in Ottawa against Calgary. I think the Stampeders will do what many people in sports say you'd be wise to guard against...trying to turn your game on like a faucet...and be crowned C-F-L champs in the late evening of November 26th!
