It's my Parting Shot to discuss Saturday's loss to Edmonton, the Eskimos and the Riders moving forward...
After watching through the 28-13 setback to the Esks at Mosaic Stadium, two things were made very clear to me. One, the Green and White weren't playing to lose, they gave it their best shot at winning to finish third in the West and they fell short. Two, the Roughriders were beaten by the better team...no "ifs", "ands" or "buts" about it!
To go further about the Eskimos, they have the Most Outstanding Player in the C-F-L right now. And, as long as Mike Reilly stays healthy, and has all those weapons with which to utilize, Edmonton is the favourite to win the Grey Cup...even if they aren't playing a home game!
As for Saskatchewan, they need to get some healthy bodies back. A return to action from Namaan Roosevelt and Cameron Marshall would be huge. Roosevelt boosts the depth at receiver. In fact, a receiving core of Roosevelt, Duron Carter, Bakari Grant, Chad Owens and Rob Bagg would be imposing for any team. Marshall's main job will be to help out with pass protection so that Kevin Glenn can play a full game again. If there's one thing learned from the recent revolving door at running back, Marshall was the best blocker amongst them! The Fearless Predictor will have his picks in a couple of days!
