It's my Parting Shot for some Weekend Short Shots...
The Fearless Predictor's picks to be in the Grey Cup final turned out to be wrong from the East. The Riders didn't make it to the C-F-L Championship, so it'll be Toronto against Calgary. I'm telling you that the Stampeders should win by at least two touchdowns...the only way the Stamps lose, or the score is close, is if Calgary beats themselves with arrogance of attitude and arrogance in their play...meaning turnovers. Those were the two things that killed them last year in the overtime loss to Ottawa and you'd like to think that they've learned their lesson!
That "Fearless Predictor" exercise came, exclusively, from my head. My heart could care less about who wins Sunday...mostly because I don't like either team this year...and I believe Rider Nation agrees with that!
The Parting Shots for the next week-and-a-half will be composed from various locations in the W-H-L's U-S Division as the Saskatoon Blades make their longest trip of the season, needing points in hopes of making the playoffs. Overtime and shootout losses, as they were involved in this week in Moose Jaw and Swift Current are okay results. You get a point in the standings. In fact, if the Blue and Gold were to lose the rest of their games beyond regulation time, I would venture to say they would qualify for the post-season and all the games would be entertaining...which is most important to me as a broadcaster!
