It's my Parting Shot for my two cents worth of a post-mortem on the Riders...actually more of a look-ahead to next season than a review of this year...
After all, anyone who is still stuck with criticizing Chris Jones, after he turned an 0-2 and 2-4 start into a 10-8 campaign and was one Toronto drive away from being in the Grey Cup Game, well you're just an angry human being that can never be satisfied!
Kudos to riderville.com for the videos of players that were scrummed on "Garbage Bag Day." They are the key people when it comes to next season.
For instance, as much as you may think that Kevin Glenn is done and shouldn't be back as a quarterback with the Roughriders in 2018, I suspect his coming back...since he is under contract...will have a lot to do with whether Marcus Thigpen returns. I believe they are a team affair...cut one and the other one is gone, too! Glenn can still be of help to Brandon Bridge...and soon-to-be free agent James Franklin out of Edmonton, whom I believe Jones will sign to be the starter!
As for Duron Carter, don't be surprised if he chooses to try the N-F-L. This may be a shock to some in RiderNation, but import players would jump at the chance to make the big money...and not be in a starring role as they are in the C-F-L!
The next six months until training camp will be anything, but boring!
