It's my Parting Shot for some post-holiday Tuesday Tidbits...
Another Christmas and New Year has come and gone...the 58th that I've been alive for. Christmas isn't what it used to be back in my former life in Winnipeg. Back then, it was too many large, Ukrainian-themed meals over several days in a row at various and sundry homes. Now, aside from a great Christmas Day meal I get to partake in, the time is spent in a nice, quiet and relaxed atmosphere. I did see midnight on New Year's...so some things haven't changed...thankfully!
I was reminded this morning that some of my favourite sports teams are doing pretty well these days. The N-H-L Jets lead the Central Division and the N-F-L Vikings won the N-F-C North and have a bye into the N-F-L's Division Playoff round. I don't want to say too much positive about either as cautious optimism has become my modus operandi with those teams...unlike some of the annoying fans of such over-hyped and over-rated squads as the Habs, Oilers and Cowboys!
I see the Riders were busy with player signings since I was last in the office on December 19th. Considering those contract renewals were with players who could've opted for free agency, only means that Chris Jones and company are doing something right down in Regina...meaning 2018 should be one of great anticipation for Rider Nation!
