Soon we will be in full-blown civic election mode to see who will be charged with wisely spending our money until October, 2020. There has been discussion lately about Saskatoon Councillors’ communication allowance of $10,000 per year on top of their salaries. Some believe it gives incumbents an advantage. This could be a legitimate concern. Name recognition does help a politician get elected.
Human greed causes havoc. People get rich. People get poor. For every winner there is a loser. When your retirement portfolio goes down, that money you lost doesn’t vaporize into thin air.
