A professional agrologist has been hired in an effort to provide specialized service to the agriculture sector.
Blair McClinton says underwriters and adjustors will undergo some additional training."One of the things we are trying to do is make sure that the people who are working on farm claims understand business operations and what the equipment is and what its used for."McClinton says farm equipment is getting more sophisticated every year, which also means it's getting more expensive."We have hired a machinery specialist already. We are looking to hire another person with expertise in farm machinery to provide technical assistance to adjustors." The SGI CANADA Farm Business Unit is based in Saskatchewan, but the company sells insurance in all three Prairie provinces.
