Turtleford hosts high school cross country championships
Saskatoon teams dominated the provincial high school cross country running championships in Turtleford.
Bridge City runners captured five of the six age category titles on Saturday and swept the top three spots overall.
Walter Murray finished first, followed by St Joseph and Centennial.
Saskatoon runners swept the top four spots in the junior boy's event. Centennial’s Benjamin Seshadri won the race in a time of 14:59, just three seconds faster than Kibrom Makaby of Holy Cross. Mathias Yuzdpeski of Walter Murray was another nine seconds back in third. The quick Saskatoon quartet was completed by Kaito Hann of Holy Cross finishing fourth.
Other top-three finishes from Saskatoon runners were recorded by Claire Abrey of St. Joseph in senior girls, St. Joseph teammate Penelope Mulenga in junior girls and Allison Novecosky of Walter Murray in midget girls.
