The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed import kick returner Christion Jones to a one-year contract extension keeping him with the team through 2019.
Jones signed with the Riders in July 2017 and played 10 games during his first CFL season. The 25-year-old University of Alabama product had 45 punt returns for 645 yards and two touchdowns during the regular season while adding 18 kickoff returns for 423 yards.
In the playoffs, Jones added 12 punt returns for 223 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown during the Eastern final in Toronto which temporarily gave the Riders the lead.
Following the regular season, he was named the Riders’ Most Outstanding Special-Teams Player.
