Saskatoon's Steve Laycock is trying to battle back into contention at the "Roar of the Rings" in Ottawa.
He got into the win column at the Canadian Olympic Men's Curling trials with Sunday night's 7-4 win over John Epping. The Laycock crew counted three-enders in the seventh and ninth to break open a tight contest which they trailed 2-1 after six ends.
Laycock's foursome opened the competition with a 6-3 loss to Kevin Koe in the first draw and fell 8-6 to Brendan Bottcher in draw number three. His only game on Monday is against the 0-2 rink of Reid Carruthers. Koe led the men's draw heading into Monday's action with a 3-0 record.
