The Saskatchewan Huskies comeback against UBC fell just short in a 29-25 loss at Griffiths Stadium.
Down 29-9 with ten minutes left, quarterback Kyle Siemens led the Huskies rally, first finding Findley Easton for a 13 yard touchdown before a 33 yard catch and run to Yol Piok for a score, and a conceded safety put the Dogs back by just four. It looked like the comeback was complete when Siemens found Chad Braun for the game-winning touchdown late, but it was called back for an illegal block, and the ensuing hail mary throw was picked off by the Thunderbirds to seal the loss. Siemens finished the night with 310 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, but two interceptions. Piok led all Huskies receivers with 85 yards. The Huskies remain fourth in the Canada West standings, holding on to the fourth and final playoff spot. They'll face Alberta next week.
