Four Huskies make it to the annual showdown against National Juniors.
Four Saskatoon Huskies have been named to the U-Sports Men’s Hockey All-Star team that will play in the two-game series against the Canadian National Junior prospects.
Captain Kendall McFaull is joined by goalie Jordan Cooke and forwards Josh Roach and Logan McVeigh.
Fifth-year defenceman, McFaull, has registered four goals and three assists in 15 games.
Cooke, the two-time national goaltender of the year, continues his stellar university career starting 12 games for the Huskies in 2017-18. The fourth-year Leduc, Alta., native has posted an 11-2 record with a 2.34 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
Fifth-year Roach and third-year McVeigh are having career seasons leading the Huskies' in scoring. Roach also leads the Canada West in scoring with nine goals and 17 assists. McVeigh sits closely behind with six goals and 15 assists.
Cooke returns to the roster for the third straight year, while McFaull was on the team in 2016.
The games are set for Wednesday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec. 14 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ont., home of the OHL's Niagara Ice Dogs.
The Huskies have a record of 13-2-1 after a weekend sweep in a home-and-home series against Regina. Saskatchewan sits second in the standings, three points behind Alberta.
This weekend they play a Friday-Saturday doubleheader in Lethbridge.
