The "Monday Update" from the Saskatoon Blades had more bad news than good.
First and foremost, the 8-12-1 Bridge City Bunch have lost Number 1 goaltender Ryan Kubic for at least a week, if not two weeks, after suffering a Lower Body injury in Saturday's 6-3 loss in Moose Jaw. Kubic has played in 18 of the 21 Blue and Gold games so far this season and has been between the pipes for all eight wins and 17 points. Joel Grzybowski has been recalled from the Battlefords of the S-J-H-L...a week after being reassigned there with Nolan Maier joining the Blades on a full-time basis. Meanwhile, defenceman Seth Bafaro may have finished serving his four-game, league-imposed, suspension over the weekend...but the 17-year-old is now suffering from the flu and isn't expected to suit up for Saskatoon Tuesday in Moose Jaw. In addition, centre Logan Christensen remains sidelined with an Upper Body injury. Following the visit to Moose Jaw Tuesday, the Bridge City Bunch travels to Swift Current Wednesday, hosts Brandon Friday, then heads out on their Western Conference road trip...this year to the U.S. Division. Following is the news release from the Blades...
- Ryan Kubic suffered a lower body injury on Saturday in Moose Jaw and is expected to be out 1-2 weeks
- Joel Grzybowski has been recalled from North Battleford of the SJHL
- Seth Bafaro has completed his 4 game suspension but now has the flu, not likely for Tuesday in Moose Jaw
- Logan Christensen remains 1-2 weeks away from returning to the lineup
