For the first time, a woman has taken the helm at the Saskatchewan Mining Association.
Jessica Theriault, Director of Environmental Affairs with Mosaic Company, has been elected Chair of the SMA for a two-year term. She succeeds Neil McMillan, Chair of Cameco Corporation and former CEO of Claude Resources. Tammy Van Lambalgen, Vice President, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel, AREVA Resources Canada was elected as Vice Chair. In a release, the SMA says that the election of these two women represents a significant milestone in signalling the growing leadership roles of women in mining.
