Saskatoon Police had to bring down a suspect with Conducted Energy Weapons after a series of violent outbursts downtown around 10 o'clock last night (mon).
It began in a business on the 200 block of 3rd Avenue South with a suspect swinging a chair at a staff member, and then threatening staff with a machete. Police say the man left, and threw a sign through a window at another business. People in the area were threatened with the machete. Police say the suspect is alleged to have tried to stab one person. He then pulled a rake from a parked vehicle and was swinging that at the public. Police arrived and chased the suspect to 3rd Avenue and 23rd Street. When he swung the rake at them, and failed to follow the officers' commands, two officers used their Tasers and he was arrested. The 30 year old is facing multiple charges.
