The goal for SADD Saskatchewan is to bring deaths due to drinking and driving down to zero and this week is the annual red ribbon awareness campaign.
CAA Saskatchewan is supplying the ribbons and promoting awareness. Spokesperson Christine Niemczyk says the ribbons are available at all of the CAA stores in the province. Fatalities and injuries from drinking and driving are always preventable and because there are still impaired driving accidents and deaths, CAA will continue to relay the message, Niemczyk says. If you see a red ribbon on a vehicle, SADD Saskatchewan calls it a reminder to make responsible choices and not drive while impaired. There are about 130 active SADD chapters in Saskatchewan.
