42 year old Happy Charles and 25 year old Joanne Laurin have been missing since April, but this weekend search crews are hoping to find some answers.
Charles was last seen heading from her home in La Ronge to Prince Albert to do some banking on April 3rd, while Laurin, who is from Wahpeton, was last seen on April 22nd, but there aren't any other details at this point. Charles is 5'3", 112 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Laurin is 5'4", 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and white jacket as seen in the photo above. Search Volunteer Coordinator David Crane says if you'd like to volunteer there are a few things you need to remember before reporting to base camp at Allen Bird Memorial Gym in Prince Albert. He notes it is important to have good working shoes or boots, long pants, and a weather appropriate shirt or jacket. Right now, Crane estimates he has about 75 volunteers coming to help. Search crews are concentrating on two broad areas - locations around Wahpeton Dakota Nation and a 20 km radius around Prince Albert, including a search of the river. Crane says this case could be more of a recovery operation at this point, but they are still hopeful.
