For the eight consecutive month, retail sales in Saskatchewan rose.
From February to March, sales here rose 2.7 per cent. Only two provinces beat that. The national average was an increase of only 0.7 per cent. Over the course of a year, sales in this province were up 8.7 per cent. Only British Columbia was slightly higher at 8.9. Statistics Canada says our total sales in Saskatchewan for March came in at about $1.73 billion. Higher sales have been reported in general merchandise stores, gas stations, and health and personal care stores.
