A little wild west action in North Battleford overnight after RCMP received numerous calls of shots fired in the areas of 95th, 96th, 101st, 102nd, 109th, 106th Streest and 21st Avenue.
The calls started coming in at 12:29 a.m. and in one complaint the caller told police one car was being chased and shot at by another vehicle. RCMP did not locate any people or places that were hit by bullets but they did track down a vehicle that was shot at. RCMP officers on patrol could hear gunshots going off in various other locations around North Battleford but did not come across the suspects or any potential victims.
Meanwhile, about 15 minutes before all the shooting got underway, RCMP were called to the 13 hundred block of 108th Street by two people who indicated they had been robbed and bear sprayed. They said they were walking home when they were approached by two teens - boys - who demanded cash and when they refused they were sprayed.
Anyone with information about any of last night's incidents is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers. It was just a couple days ago, early Wednesday morning, around 1:30 a.m., that Battlefords RCMP were called by a resident regarding several shots being fired on 111th Street in North Battleford.
Officers located a home with several bullet holes in it in the 14-hundred block of 114th Street. No one was hurt and the resident of the home refused to cooperate with police.
