The Mosaic Company is helping Wanuskewin Heritage Park to thunder ahead with its goals of elevating the park to an international centre for education, preservation and interpretation of Indigenous art and culture.
Wanuskewin's $40-million Thundering Ahead Capital Campaign was announced last year. The Mosaic Company is committing $500-thousand to that goal. The Senior Vice President of Potash for the company, Bruce Bodine, says that by funding renewal of the trail system, Mosaic has the privilege of helping to bring to life the tradition and stories of this sacred gathering place. The goal with the fundraising campaign is to expand the land base to accommodate a small herd of Plains Bison, to introduce more exhibit galleries and educational offerings, to expand the current facility to accommodate larger conferences and to renovate the 25 year old interpretive centre. The goal is also to receive World Heritage designation from UNESCO.
