A post on the Kindersley RCMP Facebook page highlights what many emergency personnel and tow truck drivers have been saying, that drivers aren't slowing down while passing vehicles with flashing lights.
Dispatch at the Kindersley RCMP headquarters received a call over the radio from an officer saying he or she was at a collision with unknown injuries and lots of debris, and was almost run over because no one was slowing down while passing the scene at the intersection of Highway 7 and 21. The officer surmised the emergency lights seemed to mean nothing, so backup was requested. The message from the RCMP is to slow to 60 km/h when passing an accident, or any time you are passing an emergency vehicle or two truck with the lights flashing. If not, you could see those flashing lights in your rear view mirror and end up with a ticket.
