There was a slight reduction in the number of people nabbed for impaired driving over the holiday season in Saskatchewan.
Between December 24th and January 1st through targeted enforcement by the RCMP, 21 people were charged with impaired driving while over .08. A year ago, 29 charges were laid. No one refused a breath sample, as compared to 3 people in 2016 and finally, 8 people received an alcohol-related roadside suspension this holiday season as opposed to 14 people a year ago. Even though it's a bit of an improvement, the Saskatchewan RCMP reminds everyone that even one impaired driver is too many and the goal is for everyone to plan a safe ride home no matter what time of year it is.
