Evacuees from Pelican Narrows have the option to head home now.
Chief Peter Beatty of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation has rescinded the general evacuation order after updates received from the province on the wildfire conditions. Because of air quality concerns, those with health conditions along with mothers and babies, elders and their families will stay on in Saskatoon and Prince Albert. All evacuees are required to check in at the Senator Allan Bird Memorial Centre in Prince Albert. Those in Saskatoon can check in at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre for a fuel card and any further instructions. There is still a road block, but there will be a series of convoys for vehicles from Highway 135 and 106 starting at 6 tonight for 60 vehicles at a time. Schools will re-open on Monday.

General Evacuation Order lifted for Pelican Narrows
Issued Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 at 1 PM
Effective today, Chief Peter A. Beatty of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) has rescinded the
general evacuation order for the Pelican Narrows community, following recommendations of the
Province of Saskatchewan and its ministries. Due to continued air quality concerns this rescindment is
valid only for the General Community Members and Priority 3 persons. However, the evacuation order
remains in place for all the Priority 1 and 2 persons as identified by PBCN Health Services.
All evacuees are required to check in at the Senator Allan Bird Memorial Centre. If you are
currently being sheltered in Saskatoon, please check in at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre for fuel
card and further instructions.
Evacuees are advised to bring their own supply of groceries wherever possible.
Fuel Support: Emergency Social Services will cover fuel allotments for personnel vehicles.
Saskatoon -- For all evacuees with private vehicles in Saskatoon, gas cards will be provided,
which can be redeemed at any Co-op gas station.
Prince Albert – Evacuees must check in at Senator Allan Bird Memorial gym to receive their
Bus Transportation: Bus transportation will begin tomorrow, starting on Thurs., Sept. 14th.
For those travelling by buses, evacuees will need to reserve their seat by adding your name to
the sign up sheet posted at the Henk Ruys soccer centre (Saskatoon) or PAGC's Senator Allan
Bird Memorial gym (PA).
Early Family Mid-month Cheque Release for SA recipients:
Saskatoon -- The SA worker Keith McCallum will be distributing Early Family Mid-month
cheques. For assistance with transportation for groceries, contact the on site SA worker.
Prince Albert -- PBCN staff will be at the PAGC gym to distribute cheques in Prince Albert.
