A man from Hudson Bay has been charged with first degree murder after a woman was found dead on Friday. RCMP received word that a woman had been shot around 5 p.m. on Friday, and by the time they arrived at the scene, 27 year old Stacie Lewis was pronounced dead.
A man was immediately identified as a person of interest, and later that night he was arrested without incident. 32 year old Steven Lee Lewis has been charged with first degree murder, and police say the victim and suspect were known to each other. Steven Lewis will make his first court appearance in Melfort on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a man from the Beardy's First Nation has been charged after the death of a man near the community of Duck Lake on Friday. Around 6:30 a.m., Rosthern RCMP were called to a grid road three kilometres north of Duck Lake after a man was found lying on the road. 52 year old John Brown of Christopher Lake was pronounced dead at the scene. 24 year old Bobby Gamble was charged with second degree murder. Gamble will make his first court appearance in Saskatoon on Monday.
