Saskatoon Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery where a 16 year old boy was shot.
Around 2:00 a.m. Friday, police responded to a home in the 400 block of Avenue W South for a report of a boy who had been shot. He was transported to Royal University Hospital and is in serious, but stable condition. Police determined that the shooting had taken place near the intersection of 20th Street West and Avenue W South at approximately 1:30 a.m. Police say the victim had been walking down the street when approached by a male suspect who attempted to rob him, and when he refused the suspect's demands the suspect then pulled out a concealed firearm and shot him. The suspect fled the scene and the victim made his way to a nearby residence where the Police were called. Police say the victim and suspect were not known to each other. Little information is known about the suspect. He is described as having a skinny build, about 6 feet - 6 foot 2 inches tall, wearing black pants, and a black toque. The investigation is ongoing.
