We never thought this day would come. Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has been FIRED, and now he's speaking out!
The trouble first started for Bill two weeks ago, when the New York Times revealed that he (and the company) had to pay nearly $13-million in SETTLEMENTS to women who claimed Bill sexually harassed them. Just last week, a Fox employee (who happens to be a black woman) said Bill once called her “hot chocolate” and would make inappropriate comments and grunts at her.
So, while Bill was vacationing in Italy and shaking hands with the Pope, Fox finally fired him. This is what they said: “After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel.”
THEN Bill O’Reilly released his own statement: “Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television. It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today...”
(The thing is, O’Reilly can probably survive this. He had 4 million viewers a night, and made the company over $100-million in advertising a YEAR! Plus, his show became even more successful AFTER he was accused!)
