Another Canadian site has been added to the Flying J travel plaza network (E. of Idylwyld Dr. North) in Saskatoon, SK. This beautiful new facility offers drivers the convenience of four private showers and five fuel islands that pump Shell Canada’s quality diesel fuel. Saskatoon is centrally located in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan and its name (meaning indigenous berry) was derived from the Cree Indians. It has a thriving population of 206,900 and continues to grow due to fact that the province grows half of Canada’s major export crops including wheat, oats, barley, rye, flaxseed and canola. Although Saskatoon has been inhabited for over 6,000 years, it wasn’t until 1883 that the first settlers began to arrive. By 1903, the town charter was obtained and in 1906 the city was incorporated. Saskatoon is now celebrating its 100th Anniversary and a new Flying J Travel Plaza! Come, join the celebration!
