Canada's Agriculture Day is an opportunity to get involved, celebrate and be a part of the conversation about food and farming.
The national event is an initiative of Agriculture More Than Ever, a group of farmers and ag related businesses and organizations.There will be a luncheon in Ottawa followed by a program featuring a keynote presentation from Farm Credit Canada president and CEO Michael Hoffort.Agriculture students at the University of Saskatchewan will be handing out as many Real Dirt on Farming Saskatchewan Digests as possible on campus. Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan CEO Clinton Monchuk will be speaking at Agri-Visions Canada's Agriculture Day Luncheon in Lloydminster. "Canada has a very strong and prominent agriculture sector," says Monchuk. "One in eight jobs are dependent on the agriculture industry." Many other events are being held across the country.
